YZA Voku emancipates himself in a frenzied waltz where he builds a pure movement succumbing to a frantic cadence. A gradient of emotion blossoming through a 21st century affiliated with technology.

The Sweetshop

the exaltation

Lulled by cinema since his early childhood, he fell in love with the rhythm of Gaspard Noé , the narration of Yorgos Lanthimos and the aesthetics of Nicolas Winding Refn . The prominence of visual art in his life led him to his approach based on experimentation. The fusion of photography, design and elements generated by artificial intelligence characterizes his work. This may include layering photographic images with painterly elements or manipulating images through AI algorithms to create visual effects.

Provoking emotion through reflection until it gets into the reader's thoughts. Whether it is a message or a story, he tries to convey his reality in the most visually explicit way.

the fireworks

Both artistic director and photographer, he sees in AI a perspective of limitless visual expression. Artificial intelligence acts as a bridge between different disciplines while challenging the boundaries of the conventional. The synergy between the traditional and technology allows us to surpass the aesthetic dimensions of a story. AI simplifies, eliminates the most tedious processes and provides the opportunity to reinvent yourself and acquire skills that used to take a long time to acquire.

In its finality the need for expression will always exist. The physical and emotional experience is there. The future will decide the benefit or inconvenience that this tool will cause.

Cinema has this unique ability to transport us to different places in the heart of diametrically opposed realities in an endless period of time. The imagination is nourished by this perspective of endless travel. It is no longer a question of navigating from point A to point B but of catching a glimpse of the horizon without ever being able to reach it.

This union of all the “bodies” that form art, image, sound, emotion and narration pushes our protagonist to constantly reevaluate and expand his creative desires as the visual immensity experiences no limits.

a bright red dance

Unconsciously after unfailing dedication to his thinking, red naturally intervened as a key factor in the interpretation of his universe. Being one of the most expressive colors which is found largely in the experiences he lives, his works are imbued with it without it being a resource that he uses voluntarily and thanks to which he wishes to be recognized .

Aesthetics are shaped, defined and expanded over the years when we dedicate ourselves to it with our hearts and souls. Without setting limits, he constructs and deconstructs without locking himself into a model. The way of creating is constantly evolving, beyond a fear that holds back the most purists in their field, he feels motivated. Today it is the way of creating that can be considered in danger and not the artist.

His DNA is characterized by his obsession with movement, what seems to move, what is ephemeral and what is constantly changing transports him. It is a reflection that flourishes before and after the image, while applying to photography as well as digital art.

A solitary actor in his own ascent, joining a collective would only cause a global misunderstanding of each other's work even if it turns out that growing up with a solid base is enriching.

unfinished reflection

When he thinks about the works that comfort him the most, he turns to personal projects, those that speak to identity, its loss, the changes and reflection that this entails. It is this process of adaptation and transition that he likes, in this kind of apparent chaos, perplexity and search for order. It is in personal projects that he is used to playing with the abstract, the illogical and the pieces that never fit together.

“I have no idea ”, the raw, uncertain and confident response of a protagonist who is confronted with an imminent future. It resonates as a new ode to an uncertain future with all the technological changes it brings.

However, the feeling that there is a new world to explore causes unfailing excitement in him which motivates him enormously. It is one of the precursors to focus on short films made solely using artificial intelligence. We invite you to watch  “PANTOMIME ” finalist AI GEN:48 , a concentrate of cohesion which takes its source in a tonality and a liberated narration.

Many thanks to YZA VOKU for sharing his vision and interpretation of modern times.
