About

Edward Housden is a writer and director with a cinematic eye that lingers long after the credits roll. His short film Muscles premiered in Official Selection at Cannes, before going on to screen at festivals including SXSW and BFI London—an early career launchpad that set the tone for what was to come.

In London, Edward built a reputation for crafting commercials and music videos that balance style with substance. His collaborations with agencies like Adam & Eve DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBH, M&C Saatchi, Mother, and Anomaly have been recognised at the British Arrows, D&AD, Cannes Young Director Award, and Ciclope. Beyond advertising, he’s brought his singular visual language to shorts for Nowness and MTV, always chasing stories that move as much as they mesmerise.

Edward continues to direct commercials while developing long-form narrative projects. Thoughtful, inventive, and grounded, he’s a filmmaker who makes the work feel effortless—even though the craft behind it is anything but.
