We welcome applicants from all sections of the community and we particularly encourage members of under- represented and minority groups to apply for jobs at The Sweetshop. We pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity employer irrespective of gender, ethnicity, generation, flexible work status, family circumstances, sexual orientation or disability. Through our employment process process we strive to identify and select the best talent from the most diverse pool of applicants and ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process for all.

"We want everyone at The Sweetshop to love their jobs and flourish. We want everyone to feel valued and looked after and provide clear pathways for career development at The Sweetshop".

EMPLOYMENT PATHWAYS

As part of our effort to create pathways for our employees, we ensure all job vacancies are advertised internally first. This year we have had two junior and three senior staff members relocate to different global offices, making our family more globalised in all the right ways. This is all thanks to our worker flexibility policy and associated principle.

We are proud to be carving out careers for our people and promotions are a rewarding way to represent this.

LIVING WAGE

All of our staff are remunerated by salaries that would represent higher wages than the living wage standard.

PARENTAL LEAVE

We have a generous Parental leave policy.

FLEXIBLE WORKING

Our worker flexibility policy means we can offer hybrid working options for our people, such as working from home when it suits.

HEALTH & WELLBEING

At The Sweetshop we take the health and wellbeing of our staff seriously. We aim to foster an internal culture that is diverse, inclusive, welcoming, honest, kind and individual, where all team members feel valued, listened to, respect- ed, understood and can uncompromisingly be their authentic selves.

We have a zero tolerance policy for discrimination or harrassment

We offer free counselling for all staff and directors. Through our global Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAPs are a support system for emotional and psychological well-being, both at work and personally. EAP also offers meditation and whistleblowing services.

DIRECTOR & EMPLOYEE REVIEWS

As part of our implicit stakeholder engagement, we have implemented annual reviews for both directors and employees, providing a constructive conversation both ways about their career and how we can best support them.

PULSE CHECK QUESTIONNAIRE

Following development in 2022, anonymous internal surveys provide us with a read on the health of the organisation. It allows us to identify areas for attention and improvement.

This year we've adopted several key practices to nurture a healthier culture characterised by improved connectivity and transparency:

'Sweetchat,' our monthly internal mailer, has proven immensely successful in keeping every individual at The Sweetshop abreast of global developments.

We have made good headway with inciting a culture of less meetings, more picking up the phone.

All regions are required to share their monthly B corp progress, insights and ideas with the global team , to foster cross-team support and inspiration.
